Weston is a graduate of both the Crouse School of Nursing and SUNY Upstate Medical University, where she received her BS in nursing. She has also continued to pursue her writing. Her fiction piece Being Lucy appeared in the 2012 issue of The Healing Muse Literary Journal and she is working on a memoir called Nursing: A Confession about her experiences working in the very intense and sometimes heartbreaking landscape of the modern intensive care unit.
