Landscape and abstract painter

Van Soest talks warmly about the interesting detours her life has taken that eventually led to her current career as a landscape and abstract painter. She started out as a science/technical writer, eventually began volunteering at Suicide Prevention and then spent many years as their director. In mid-life she began her career as a painter. She is a member of Ithaca’s State of the Art Gallery.
