DeMaris is  a graduate in music from the New England Conservatory and Ithaca College. He is currently an Assistant

Professor of Performance Studies, as well as Director of Opera and Musical Theatre at Ithaca College.

He also serves as Musical Director at Mill City Summer Opera in Minneapolis and is on the faculty of the

Aspen Music Festival.

He has performed in many venues, including The New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Glimmerglass and

The Syracuse Opera.

DeMaris teaches master classes and is also a composer- his art songs have been performed throughout the

United States.
