Kitano received her MFA in creative writing from Syracuse University and her Ph.D

in English and Creative Writing from Texas Tech University.

She is the author of 2 collections of poetry, Birds of Paradise and her just

released Sky Country published by BOA Editions.

She is currently an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing, Poetry and

Asian American Literature at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY
