Vivian Bruce Conger is an Associate Professor in the History Dept. at Ithaca College. Her specialty and interest are in early American and women’s history. She is the author of The Widows’ Might: Womanhood and Gender in Early British America. Her forthcoming book is about the little known lives of Ben Franklin’s wife and daughter. It will be titled The Worlds of Deborah Read Franklin & Sally Franklin Bache: Trans-generational Lives in Colonial & Revolutionary Philadelphia.
