Professor at Northwestern and author of "Miss Anne In Harlem: White Women of the Black Renaissance"
Kaplan is the Davis Distinguished Professor of American Literature at Northeastern University, and is the Founding Director of the university’s Humanities Center. She is the author of several books, including her most recent, the bestseller Miss Anne In Harlem: White Women of the Black Renaissance. This award-winning book draws on Kaplan’s thirty years as a white scholar in Black Studies and her exploration of cultural crossovers.
