Writer/performance artist/singer/songwriter/ cancer survivor

Lanzillotto is the author of L is for Lion: An Italian Bronx Butch Freedom Memoir, and the book of poetry Schistsong. She is the songwriter and vocalist of the albums Blue Pill a rock and blues collaboration with Adeel Salman, Eleven Recitations, and Carry My Coffee, a duet with cellist Lori Goldston. She received a B.A. with honors in medical anthropology from Brown University and an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Lanzillotto has survived Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Thyroid Cancer, and has been a patient at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City since she was 18 years old
