Author of "Be Safe, I Love you"

Hoffman is a writer and journalist and the author of two critically acclaimed novels, including So Much Pretty, a beautifully written debut novel that tackled the issue of violence in a small American town. Her most recent novel,  Be Safe, I Love You, takes on the contemporary issue of  a women soldier, and the challenges faced upon returning home from a tour of duty in the Iraq war. Hoffman has received a number of awards, including a New York State Foundation for the Arts Fellowship.  She currently teaches at Bronx Community College.
