Attorney and mediator, and expert on Gay Marriage issue

Geldenhuys received her undergraduate and graduate law degrees from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She studied law and criminology at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. She has practiced law in Ithaca, New York for the past twenty-four years, in areas including family and matrimonial law; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) family law. Ten years ago, she shifted the focus of her practice to collaborative law and mediation, to help clients resolve legal issues in a respectful, client-centered way and without litigation.
