Waxler discusses his intensely intimate memoirs that chronicle the death of one son and the near death of another. In Losing Jonathan Waxler and his wife Linda recounted the desperate year they struggled to save their son Jonathan from a heroin addiction. In The Courage to Walk, Waxler writes of the battle to save their youngest son, Jeremy, from a mysterious illness that left him paralyzed. He also co-founded Changing Lives Through Literature, an innovative sentencing program for criminal offenders based on the power of literature to transform lives.
