Dougherty is a professor of English at Corning Community College. He was awarded

the State of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative

Activity.

He is the author of several collections of poetry, including Pilgrimage to a Gingko Tree;

Part Darkness; Part Breath; Backyard Passages and Small Galaxies.

His most recent is a very personal new collection called Everyday Objects, and

spans thirty years of his journey as a poet.
