Deer Cloud talks passionately about her Native American heritage and how personal experience and politics influence her poetry. Her work has appeared in many literary journals, including “Prairie Schooner.” She is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship. Deer Cloud also reads several poems from her books “The Last Ceremony” and “Braiding Starlight.”
