Writer of non-fiction / historical fiction
Di Renzo is an Associate Professor of creative writing at Ithaca College. He has published dozens of
articles and essays in many literary journals and magazines, including Voices in Italian Americana,
River Styx and Essays & Fictions. He is author of several books, including the well-received “Bitter Greens:
Essays on Food, Politics and Ethnicity From the Imperial Kitchen,” published in 2010.
His most recent, and the topic of our discussion, is his first book of historical fiction, “Trinacria: A Tale of
Bourbon Sicily,” published in fall 2013 by Guernica Editions.
